Tip Burn lack of Iodine ?

For the past year all but one of my sps have suffered the same fate .
Tips dead after a few weeks shortly followed by the coral turning dull to grey and then death.
Alk had remained relatively stable 8-8.3
Salinty 1.026 tested with calibrated refractometer (tropic eden)
Nitrate has fluctuations based on the growth of alage on my scubber .
Typically range is 10-20ppm hanna .
It did bottom out from too much alage growth but the problems were before and after that happend.
Lighting illumagic x4 200-350 par .
No signs of pests or fish nipping .
So Icp was sent off .

It was mentioned iodine was low along with a number of trace elements.
I've stared twice weekly dosing of seachem iodide and Chaeto grow.

Any feed back on the icp results would be appreciated.

You seem to be on the right course to correct your trace element issue but your bromine is about 2-3 times the normal and your vanadium is about 2 times normal and your iodine is low, you would want to see .06 ppm, Which may not inherently cause the issues you are having. How is your flow? The higher the par the more flow you will want with most acros.

Flow is provided by two mp40s running in reefcrest at 40 % .
When the corals were first introduced the polyps were moving nicely.
I'm not sure where the elevated elements came from .
I was using Brs two part but have recently switched back to c-balance .
Salt is Waterbox reef.

Previously reef cystals .
But these problems were long before i switched salts and dosing chems .

Low po4 with high nitrates is a possible problem.
What are your nitrates? Nvm, I see 10 to 20ppm

I've had this similar problem. What resolved it for me was dropping alkalinity to 7-7.5. This resolved all burnt tip issues and I've had great growth. Had a minor bump the other week to 8.2 and sure enough, burnt tips again. Shocking how a "normal" alkalinity level is causing me issues... This all happened with the following parameters:

Alk: 8.2
Phosphate: .15
Nitrate: 10
Calcium:450
Mag: 1350
PAR: 250-350

I've been banging my head against a wall for over a year all home test parameters were within range
Alk no more that than 9dkh and always elevated nutrients.
well other than that one time
I have also dropped my alk to 7.5 at this point i'll probably never know what if anything has or will work.
The good news is the one of the last remaining sps did have decent polyp extension today the first it's had since being introduced .
