So for some odd reason I’ve started getting a little burnt tips.

it started with green slimmer and a few others sps were affected but the green slimer got it worse to where I clipped off a 1/4 inch of the tips a few days ago and it really isn’t improving.

my valida has it a bit and forest fire digi. Some others get it but it goes away, so idk.

can’t be high alk/ low nutrients. So what could possibly cause it?

alk stays around 7
Po4 is .147
No3 is about 20-25
Cal is 420

Tested alk it’s at 6 now, as I haven’t added any 2 part in 2 days to see if the tips would heal. But just added 50ml of esv.

Did you run fresh carbon or use any other new media or new filter material or clean your lights recently?

Nothing of that.

I did add an “algae box” to my fuge and a light since my nutrients are higher and I’ve started getting some gha in tank, in order to stop nutrients from getting to high.

my t5’s Bulbs are new but added the new bulbs a week before adding the frags.

Looks more like growth tips.

Typical appearance of growth:

I was thinking that but the slimer ended up getting algae on the tips and it was a good bit of lost tissue. The tip went from purple to white and sometimes I see filaments from them, not a polyp. That slimer is the pickiest of the group I’ve noticed, sensitive to everything.

but the others could be growth, ya.

Algae is a sign of dead skeleton. If any, too high of flow or alk will likely be culprit although I've seen high salinity cause the same

Are your N & P levels usually that high?

Is electrical current a possibility?

I was thinking same, growth. The slimer is having a bit of an issue.

I just fragged this, it was growing fast. Tips similar as yours.

Since these frags have been in tank, yes.

went through lyngbya and Dino’s before I added the frags which have been in tank for 17 days now.

siubds like they are adjusting , growing with exception to the slimer.

they also came out a low nutrient system since they were quite pale/pastel.

run a gfci and ground plugand I don’t get any tinglies.

Thanks all, I’ll just continue watching and see what happens as there may not even be an issue, but more me being paranoid. After total loss due to power outage, cyano, lyngbya, Dino’s and a complete aiptasia infestation I’m a bit jumpy lol

took a good year and a half to get back to normal again.
