Under the heading life happens while you are making other plans, I had a continuing issues with my tank, major leak, tank replacement with massive fish & coral loss. then a Algae overrun that had me thinking of getting rid of my system. Fortunately I came to my senses...lol, & went back to making it "right" again. On the up side, I got a bigger (for me) tank out of it, 90 gal. & finally got to rescape that I actually like. Now that I'm back in bizz, I need to add Corals, any suggestions & placement ideas would be great1 Thanx in advance! Chop

I prefer the golden ratio over the rule of thirds, but you can't go wrong with either method :3

It's still wonderful and beautiful! Everyone likes different things =) It would be boring if everyone liked the same stuff..

I agree, in my paintings I use the golden ratio. But its a little more advanced and the rule of thirds is an easier rule to follow for composition. =-)

Hi guys.

Any tips on my scape? I like the base layers but can't decide what to do higher up.

I have lots of caves and overhangs but the top is a little boring to me.

Here is what I did with my 55g. I think I am finally pretty content with how it turned out after many many many different scapes.

I built a 210 last year. It has two rock piles. The left one tapers toward the back of the tank middle. The right one tapers toward the front middle of the tank. It tends to make the tank look much deeper front to back. The real problem is hiding the twin overflow drains that take up a lot of room in the tank. I'm hesitant to glue polyps or corals on it and end up having them block the drain slots. Here's an old picture after I sat the tank up last year.
