I have a yellow tang that needs to be moved to another tank and I know hes going to dive into my live rock and I would like to do this without having to take the rocks out. So my question is what is the best way to catch him. Thanks.

Fish trap is my best friend... Mine is an acclimation box/fish trap from Amazon for like 55

Try putting your net in the water for a while before trying to catch. Let it get used to being in the tank with them. With my tang all I need to do is clip a piece of Nori to the side and then catch him. Basically feed it and then net it.

You can feed them through a net for a few days too, sometimes works.

When disturbing anything in the tank is not an option leave a big net in the tank for a few days. Rest it on some rocks in the flow of a power head so it keeps it open. It usually only takes 1 or 2 days depending on how skiddish the particular fish is. Feed in the net and they'll get used to it pretty quick. Just did this to catch my 3 year old 6line that out grew the tank. Worked great.

When I had to catch my damsels, I fed them at night and turned the lights off. I had a flashlight that I shined on the tank. The fish didn't see the net coming and I caught them quickly.
