Did a 50% salted RO change yesterday. I just want the pristine white sand back

6 weeks old. All reading 0. The water change yesterday was a big one! Just mixed my sand up. So im hoping with the big water change this stuff will clear up. Its only on the big particles of sand.

I have a purple spot goby and a Gold Headed sleeper goby. Both sift through the sand and make it look pristine!

I've asked many folks about this, everyone seems to have the same complaint; they get sand everywhere, all over corals and you have to constantly use a turkey baster or something to clear it. Thoughts?

This is true. The gold headed is a dick when it come to this. They have a tendency to grab a mouthful of sand and go to the center of the tank and let it fly. The purple spot sits to herself on the bottom and keeps the sand on the bottom.

its the ugly phase. Be patient. Its actually a complex biological process as organisms compete and use up available minerals and nutrints. Do what your doing, don't over feed. It looks like you started with live rock. IMO that'll shorten the ugly phase a bit for you. MB7, bio spira, dr tims will actually help a bit as the biofilter matures. It really does get better but takes time.

Cheers i read about silicate so bought some filter media to take any out of the water so will see if this helps.
