Hi everyone!
Tonight I'll buy someone's black and White clownfish and I would like some advice based on experience about acclimating clown fish, about which best fish food to feed them , hermit crabs and feather dusters compatibility ( personal experience) , and any specific care I might not have read about on internet.
Is there any antibacterial natural med that I Can use to help enhance his health? ( In freshwater I use Mélafix , Pimafix , Garlic Guard, aquarium salt etc)
Also, is it necessary to have an anémone for Black And White Clownfish ?

Info: 10 gal rimless reef tank, 30 aquaclear filter, live sand, 10 + lbs of live rocks, zooanthids, palytozooanthids, 2 Red mushroom corals and a purple gorgonian, +/- 10 hermit crabs. I Will post picture with the New fish Tonight. ☺
Thanks in advance for tips and advice!
Lily ☺

Anemone is not a necessity. If its a clown, and you dont see any visible infection, you don't have to treat for any medication. Generally, prazipro and cupramine is recommended as most frequent medication during QT process.

10 hermit crabs might be too much. I would also recommend running chemical filtration (chemipure blue) in the hob filter. Do you have plans to get a skimmer ??

Hum I didnt think about having a skimmer yet .. a month ago I had a reef nano 3 gallons so I could not imagine having a hydor korelia or something like that without having sand tornados everywhere. So having a 30 gallons Aquaclear filter was a good option. Ever since I have this filter. You think I should add a skimmer? There's a lot of current already ...

Also, what happens if I keep too much hermit crabs ? I feed them Hikari Crab Cuisine sinking pellets every nights so that they dont starve ....

Skimmers are used to reduce waste...as well as oxygenate the water. And hermits imo are awful...lol they kill snails and steal food from corals and kill each other...but what i think they ment that 10 was too many for 10 gallons but your doing right and making sure theyre fed.

They are more like cleanup crews, and i wont recommend more than a couple (or three at most) for 10G. It also depends upon how much waste / algae you have in your tank. I prefer to have a mix of different cuc ( hermits, snails, urchins, stars), with snails being the bulk of it.

Hermits will hurt snails eventually (for shells if not for foods), as well as each others.

Probably not right now. If you have higher bioload and observe nutrient issues, then go for an hob or airstone based skimmer.

Can have an urchin in a 10 gallon? ;)
