Hey,

i started out with 3 of these little devils and now im over run with them. Its taking a toll on my equipment and they cover the glass constantly. When i brought rock over from my old tank i really tried getting them all but there was eggs that hatched. Anybody have suggestions on how to start reducing the number of these snails? I dont mind having some but my tank has been over run! Thanks guys!

That is a problem, I would look for something to eat them but I am not sure what that is and it is likely not to be reef safe or compatible with a reef tank. Maybe get more hermits? It would be fun to let a small octopus loose in there, and then get an eel to get the octopus, and then a shark to get an eel. Good luck, hopefully someone will know.

I think im going to shut my flow off and knock as many as i can off the glass and push into a pile then remove them. Do that plus vacuum them with a MJ1200 into a filter sock maybe?

Do you have a fuge? I just collected mine with a net over the course of a few days and put them in my fuge. They now keep it clean.

Place an algae tab or two in an open area and as they gather, scoop them up

I removed my filter socks, dumped in a lot of live sand, and made that my fuge. None of the snails have left this area because there is a lot of food for them.

A Halichoeres wrasse might help out
