Tips for switch from LED to T5?

I'll be switching from my 100w Nicrew to a four bulb Vivosun fixture with 24w ATI bulbs (2 Blue plus and 2 purple plus), and I'm curious on what the best course of action would be in terms of acclimation. Would it be better to have the fixture at 12 inches above the water and lower it over time; or would it be better to only have half the bulbs on at a time, then include the other half after a week or two?

You can usually just do it. The quality from the T5s is likely better and the tank will not even notice. You usually only have to acclimate going from T5s to LED.

Starting high and lowering is fine too. So is going like 6 hours and adding 30 minutes a day.

I would turn the system into a hybrid set up and use both which is what I’ve done

Do you have sensitive SPS? Acclimating probably isn't *bad idea, although I'm not sure it's needed. Watch your corals.

On the T5 bulb choice: Purple+ has a place in balancing out the 'green' from the B+, but I wouldn't put 2 purple bulbs in there. I would swap in a Coral+ for 1 of the Purple+. And, as always, buy some extra bulbs to play around with combos.

I'm 100% an oddball that likes purples over blues

I think 1:1 coral plus to blue plus has the nicest appearance. It has a 14-16 K appearance and looks phenomenal IMO.
