Im debating on getting the Innovative Marine Fusion Nano Peninsula 20 or getting an Aqueon 20 long tank and installing a reef conversion kit from Oceanbox Designs.

The reason for doing the conversion as opposed to IM premade tank is b/c the sump would be bigger and allow for me to install the Tunze 9001 protein skimmer.

Is it difficult to install conversion kits with silicone? Any tips if I choose that route?

Thanks!

I am not familiar with the conversion kit but I have many years of experience working with silicone. It is quite easy working with silicone. I imagine that the kit comes with instructions. Typically you tape one side, to hold the piece in place at which point you silicone the other side. I would suggest a novice leave the piece alone and allow it to set. Once set remove the tape and silicone that side. If you never worked with silicone I would suggest buying a cheap tube of chalking and practice squeezing the gun, smoothing it with your finger and so on. Any questions give me a shout.
