So, basically I went to reefapalooza over the weekend and my mom got some acro frags without me knowing and I haven't kept them before. I have enough flow and lighting to but I'm not sure how exactly to. I've kept monti's and stylo's but that's about all the SPS I've kept.

What's your parmeters bro? Give us a reading on po3, po4, ALK, CA, MAG.
Are you dosing? How old is your tank? I'm sure others will have additional questions. What a nice mom [emoji106] even nicer if she got you $200+ frags jk

Sufficient lighting and a stable environment should suffice IME. FWIW, I was afraid of sps corals when I first started. Now, they're really no different than anything else. All these corals seem to appreciate the same kind of conditions, it's just a matter of finding the right spot. ;)

Parameters are important to know if you add SPS tot the tank.
If montis and stylos were holding up than your SPS should be fine for now.
Keep them low as they can get used to the light change.
Also dip your corals before they go into your DT, it will kill all the pest on your SPS but it ain't kill the eggs though.
Another step further is to QT your corals and dip them every 5 day for at least 5 weeks and if found pest on them as AEFW you dip them longer up to 10 weeks to get everything off.
For now I assume they already in your tank, so keep the low and good flow.
Work your way up for the next week or two and observe how the doing.
Do you have any pics of your tank and the corals??

I dipped them in coral Rx and I inspected for any bite marks. No pests found.
I tested on Friday but I'll test tomorrow. I have trouble keeping po4 down though. Thinking of getting the Brightwell Aquatics Xport po4 cubes

Cool stuff, don't get me wrong, but that kind of looks like a coral garage sale. Find these frags a spot and kick back. (long term) ;)

Just acclimating them to the lighting. Already figured out where I'm gonna put them. Don't know if I should superglue or epoxy though

Try a little puty with glue on either side...hopefully you cut the plug when you dipped and put your own plug on. I'm a fan of no plugs on the rock. Good luck....how about that po4 reading [emoji16]

Theyre care requirements seem intimidating. If your other sps are growing, Just keep up with your tank, and you should be fine! Enjoy

I don't have any coral cutters. I'll see if I can get one. One of the acro's though was almost completely encrusted over the plug except the stem

Keep them up top and the magic comes from STABILITY. have all your parameters at the correct levels and keep a strict schedule of water changes. I suggest dosing 2 part as well. It's not as intimidating as it sounds. Very easy if your organized. Give them a lot of light and indirect intermittent flow. Do this and you will be successful [emoji1360]

Hi Tristan,
Biggest keys:
1) Stability is the ultra important - especially alkalinity. Test often to keep relatively constant. I test every 2 days
2) Target NO3 at about 5ppm - running a zero PO4 and NO3 usually starves sps. Acropora will bleach in a zero nutrient system unless you are supplementing.
Good Luck

I just realized that it didn't go through when I posted my Params.

I'm using Red Sea except for the phosphate. I use salifert for the phosphate but I think I have a bad kit cause it says I have none
