whats the best way to clean a ph probe. i read you can us a tooth brush and vinager but then i read not to do that. so how is it that you guys clean your probes

I've always used about an hour vinegar bath followed by a stiff bristle tooth brush

+3....the vinegar bath works every time. And if I need to store a pH probe i mix a 50/50 mix of pH4 and pH7 solution.

keep it out of light and it will stay a lot cleaner.

also, test to see how fast it reacts to a different ph. put it in tap water, if the reading changes in a couple seconds it is fine. if it reacts slowly it needs cleaned or possible replaced. failure to calibrate (2 point) means it definitely needs replaced.
