Tips or Tricks for: Bubble Magus Filter Roller Mat

I just picked the small Bubble Magus Filter roller. Before I start diving into the sump, I was curious if anyone with experience had suggestions for set up.

Any do's and don'ts?

I've got one, but not much to say. I feed it from both sides. I was going through rolls really fast fighting dinos, so I tried washing the material and re-rolling it. That ended up not working. The material lost it's stiffness and would get sucked through the holes allowing water to bypass.

I'd keep a spare roll on hand.
