Titanium Heater Corrosion?

This heater was purchased on Amazon. It’s the most stable heater I’ve had based on my Apex readings but I’ve noticed some outer skin peeling on it. What’s going on with it? I took it out of the tank.

Looks like some type of coating.
Not sure why as every titainium heater I have seen is bare metal. I would contact the manufacturer.

How old is it?
Is that outer surface flaking off easily when you took it out of the tank?
Any idea what the flaking surface is?
Is it hard or soft?
How does the surface under the coating appear to be doing (i.e. rust, oxidation, ect.)?

It looks kind of like 2 that I just bought. What brand is it?

Not sure of the brand. Bought it a year ago. The coating is hard. It’s the most stable heater I’ve ever had. My Aqueon Pro heater fluctuates by 1-1.5 degrees every day.

It looks like paint flaking of the metal surface.

Isn't there a brand name on the heater or controller? What does the controller look like?

Such a great performing heater and I wish I knew what was going with it. I’m keeping it for salt mixing for now.
