Little history of how this came about. Our washing machine leaked, water got under the baseboards and buckled our hardwood floor. After some attempts by the insurance company to resolve it we're now faced with having the hardwood sanded and finished again on the entire first floor of our house. This means all the furniture and tank have to be moved. I will have to keep the tank in the garage until May 2016 to ensure the finish cures (if that's the right term).

I've decided to setup a temporary tank during this process. This will give me the ability to do my "real" upgrade once the flooring is done.

First step in the process was to insulate the garage door. I've got half of it finished. I still need one more box of insulation.

This is the insulation I used.

love the solana, i have had mine running now over 3 years and its a great nano. I am very curious to see how in insulat the garage, pics please!

What else plans do you have for the garage. I have the same insulation on my garage door, and also put down a weather strip to prevent any drafting. Curious to see how this turns out. My main concern was mainly summer, because i wanted to avoid running a chiller.

Awesome. What are the stocking plans?

Initial stock plans will be to move over my existing 40B contents and break that tank down.

Nothing else really. I still need another box of insulation but for the most part everything has been doing well in the garage.

Not much progress this week. Just been too busy. I'll have some downtime with the holidays to really get it going.
