GFO is floating to the top in my Reactor I tried to replace with new GFO, clean the reactor, mess around with the flow rate and nothing doesn't help. I do notice a lot of bubbles when the reactor is running. The reactor is setup the same standard way as stated by the company not sure what's going on. Wanted to remove the bottom foam disk and see what happens by letting the GFO just tumble at the bottom.

Remove the disk and go to Micheals and buy the round disk make of white plastic cut it to shape and use zip ties to the red plastic, OR switch the hoses around and have to flow go down instead of up.

did something similar, zip tied the bottom foam pad to the holes on the bottom red plate. I did this at 11am this morning and I just got in 11pm and the GFO has stayed in placed which I was happy to see. It's still tumbling and I can increase/decrease the flow etc. Do you recommend it the way I have it? Can you send a pic of the stuff from Micheals?

They sell them at Micheals Jo-anns etc, but good luck searching for the on their web site.

That way works, the only problem with that is the sponge will get clogged and slow flow on the reactor causing it to change your tumble.n I do not not even bother with the foam sponges anymore.

I thought about the foam pad being clogged and slowing down the flow. Currently the tumbling hasn't changed but if it does can't I increase the flow within the reactor to increase GFO tumbling?

Yes you can, they will start to shrink and let water pass on the sides. I used too sandwich the foam between the red disk and the needle point disk, and use lots of zip ties.
