Ok so I have TLF 150 reactor I tried to use for biopellets and hated it.
So I replaced it with a Hydra Aquatics reactor (LOVE this reactor its excellent 2 thumbs up and all that jazz)
So anyways after replacing the tlf reactor I was like what the heck am I gonna do with this point of sale now.. I could run carbon or gfo in it but I am really looking at getting better reactors for that so.. meh... I think I'll mod it and put the lil thing on the soon to be frag system I am setting up... YAH thats it! and if it gets ruined who cares.
So this mod is so simple I didn't take any pictures but I can get one of the reactor in use if people want it..
Steps involved:
1) Dis assemble the reactor and make sure its all nice and clean
2) take the lower internal pipe with the plate on it.. and wack off about 3 or so inches of the tube.
3) cut the 3 inch piece in half
4) insert one of the 1.5 in. pieces into the bottom of the top plate.
5) flip the bottom plate over and insert onto the pieces you just assembled.
6) glue it all in place, including the while down tube assembly to the top of the reactor.
Done, now just drop in your bio pellets and reassemble all the input output tubing etc as you normally would.
Now just adjust the flow so you get that nice swaying motion of the much more expensive reactors.
mezmorizing!
and all from a point of sale TLF reactor (i'm sure they are find for carbon or gfo stock but if you want a cheap bio pellet reactor that runs as smoothly as the more spendy ones this will come pretty dang close)
I'm going to go ahead and get a pic of it after i run my daughter to work just for giggles, and possibly clear up anything that is confusing.
