TM carbon dosing experiences

Hey reefers!

Who has been carbon dosing with Tropic Marin carbon dosing products (e.g. reef actif, elimi-NP, etc.)?

Do you like the products vs alternatives like NOPOX?
How do you dose? Manually or through a doser?

I’m looking to begin carbon dosing and TM haS multiple products depending on your goals and nutrient levels.

My reef is mostly acros but it is a mixed reef. NO3 is 30 & PO4 is 0.3. In looking at using reef actif as of now.

I use homemade NoPox and run it thru a doser. Works like a champ and is the cheapest route to go by far.

Daily
30 ml vinegar/ 4 ml vodka. 600 gallon system. 10% weekly water changes.
Nitrate avg 5
Po4 avg .06
Some GFO used maybe 2 cups. 1/2 changed maybe once a month.

It depends on system volume and where your nitrates are at.

Go slow
I use both types of carbon. I think they will promote different bacteria strains.
