Struggling to find a test tube for this hydrometer. It's just so long and wide..... Ya know?

Anyone have any good ideas or places you shop for these things?

Thanks in advance!

Searching online for one myself. A glass cyclinder wide enough and long enough should work . Let me know if you find one.

As long as it floats it’ll work, I’m sure I read on here that someone uses the plastic tubing the hydrometer comes in.
in terms of depth i’m sure it worked(when i first thought of getting the 250ml cylinder.
) i was never sure of the circumference on if the hydrometer fit in that regard

In my experience the plastic sleeve the come in, or the glass itself varies in size, so they may or may not float properly in it.

my first one wouldn’t, but the new one will. I prefer the very stable base of the 500ml graduated cylinder though.

I use a 500 ml glass graduated cylinder. Easier to see through. Make sure you give the hydrometer a quick spin to fling off the bubbles.

Exactly my experience, couldn’t get hold,of a measuring cylinder straight away, read so,some used the sleeve but as you say it’s not very stable.

They have some really nice NIST Traceable, kits on Amazon that includes the Hydrometer, Graduate Cylinder, Cleaning Brush and Storage Case. Sadly only for Beer and Wine, none that I’ve found for Marine Aquariums. :angry-face:
