Hello,

Still working on setting up my first fish & reef tank. Planning on going with a 60 gallon cube (24 inches) but possibly looking at a 90 gallon tall (24 x 24 x 36 tall). So same foot print, but taller. My first concern is lightning, as my wife has only agreed to the tank because of the pretty reef colors. Besides more water volume, what are the advantages & disadvantages to go with the taller tank?

Oh 36" high will be the bane of your existence! Unless you have unusually long arms, and this is coming from someone over 6' tall and lanky... I still wouldn't go above 30" deep on a tank :)

I had a cube before. 93g and I did enjoy it. It did come with its challenges for aquascaping, flow, and lighting, but the depth was unreal. Well worth it, I even considered going with a 120g cube for my in-wall but opted for a 155g 6' long x 30" wide x 22" deep due to the position of the bar and the ceiling height allowing for only 22".
