To dim or not to dim?

I'm in the market for a T5 light. But I'm not sure if I should get a dimmable unit or not. Having a dusk to dawn effect is not really that important to me. Besides dusk and dawn effects are there any other benefits to dimmable T5 fixtures? Just not sure whether they are worth the additional cost.

Don't know if that is just me, t5 dimmable technology is not very reliable.

They don't last as long as the old traditional T5. Ballast and relay failure happen often

You need to do some research to see how many companies out there offer T5 dimmable fixtures out there ;-); I only know one.
