To DIP or not to DIP???

Revive has let red bugs live.

Coral RX doesn't do much for aefw adults.

Bayer takes care of them both, and is 10 times more gentle on the corals. It doesn't brown acros out or stress out LPS or zoas nearly as badly as well.

+1 to this^^^

dip with bayer, everytime. been in the hobby long enough to tell you i have had my fair share of pests as a noob because i DIDNT dip

I use bayer insecticide dip on everything that goes into my tank, now. It's harmless to coral, as it's a neurotoxin and corals don't have nervous systems. I watched how to do it on YouTube. Go check it out. It's very easy. Also, important to know to use your tank water for this dip. Not fresh RODI water.

I found a pic like that on another thread that's the one I picked up. Its on sale a Lowes for $8 or $9 I bought 3. Mainly because of something else that was said on the other thread. "They could change they're formula and we would never know"

One other question. I hope it has not been asked before and if so, I apologize. How toxic is the Bayer? The reasons I ask are:

1) Is bayer extreme safe if the DT also has fish and inverts? I don't have a QT tank, so I would dip, then rinse first in one bucket, then set up a second bucket. Will they be safe when I put them in my tank and not kill the fish?
1) Do I need to wear gloves when using?
2) I rinsed my corals when using the Coral-Rx twice in different buckets to get them progressively more rinsed. Do I need to do this with bayer to assure they will not kill my fish and inverts when I put them in the tank?

Bayer will kill inverts and fish. I just dipped today and forgot about the acro crab on 1 colony. You need to dip in fresh tank water to not transition the Bayer in to the dt. I do the same thing, no qt. It's safe and polyps out in 30 min.

My experience is coral RX is very hard on sps. I only use it on LPS and softies. For sps, I have good luck with tropic Marin pro coral care and I will try Bayer in the future. I've never used revive. But dipping is something I endorse.

I had the same experience with Coral Rx, very hard on SPS.

Bayer 1000%. I used coral rx pro religiously and got aefw. My wrasse didn't eat them all and I got infested big time. Almost lost everything. I dipped rocks and all in Bayer because I had massive encrusted colonies. Didn't lose a single coral. Lost a lot of starfish and a shrimp. Make sure you rinse then twice before putting in tank.
