How much flow is too much? how much is too little. As some Of you know I have been battling red slime and losing! I have reduced my feedings to once per day and I have changed out my Koralia 1 for a 3. So my flow in my 75 gallon tank is by a koralia 2 and a 3 on each end of the tank and my return pump is a mag 7. what are peoples opinions on flow and if you can have too much. do I have too much? I welcome all opinions.

Tom

I have (2) Koralia 3's on my 75. IMO flow depends on the coral you are keeping. I had a #4 also but took it out because my frogspawn and hammer didn't like it.

The tank has been set up for 16 months and except for the red slime all is well. Well I was worried about my hammer and frogspawn but they seem ok as they are not right next to the koralia. I also have some new sps a birds nest which is doing very well and red panet acro green slimer acro a green posilipora and pink stapholaphora. the last four are only two weeks in my tank and it is still hard to tell if they are growing. they look all right in that the polyps are extended.

Do you have macroalgaes, carbon and GFO in your system? Do you use RO/DI water? What are your water parameters? Lighting? How old are the bulbs and what K rating are they?
What are you feeding and how much? Maybe once a day is still too often, I feed maybe 5 days a week, skipping a day here and there and then consider a fishes stomach to be the size of its eyeballs and feed accordingly. Make the fish and inhabitants scavenge and help with the cleaning.
