To frag or not to frag

At what point do you start to frag a coral? I have a red and teal blasto cluster that is slightly larger than a ping pong ball. I'd say around 30 heads.
Also a rock about the same size covered with war coral.
It got me wondering, at what point do you decide to start fragging?

Also, I have two large colonies of red mushrooms with some MASSIVE heads on them. If you cut off a head from a large stalk, does it grow back a large head, or a small one?

Eventually, I'd like to frag some pieces to supplement buying more pieces

It is personal preference to decide when you want to frag them. If you want to, by all means, go right ahead and frag them

1) Chemical warfare. Dying RTN STN etc sick coral.
2)Need money
3)Trade
4)Over growth
Otherwise you love that you have a mature colony.

Just keep upgrading your tank to accommodate your corals.

I used to jump and frag something as soon as there was enough coral there to frag. What I found was that my tanks never filled out. It is very much a personal choice like @Baby Ray said. If you want to frag it, go for it! If you want to have a fully grown out tank I'd avoid fragging until you have a dove issue.
