Is there such a thing? We are trying to match ocean currents so I would think most would say no. I have always been a crazy flow type of guy and like a lot of movement in my reef. But I have noticed a loss of multiple pieces in the time after adding a wp40 to my already existing crazy flow in my 90g. Is there maybe to much flow now? Is my water now running through the system at to high of a rate not allowing proper time in the filtration areas? Have peeps ran into similar experiences when taking their flow and turn over rate to a new level?

i asked this same question......the answer i was told is no.........i have a 125 gallon 6 ft long tank...have a 1500 power head on the right and putting a wp40 on the left side...point upwards to make some turbulance

Flow is great but some corals do not like alot of flow. You just have to see how they react.

I run 2 mp60's 1 MP40 and 2 mag 12 returns on a 300. My guess is about 10,000 gph turnover or more.

You don't want to make it exhausting for your fish or make it impossible for your polyps to hold onto food.

When you imagine ocean currents, keep in mind that not everyone lives right at the shoreline with breaking waves and rip currents. Also, there are places to rest on a real reef and the currents change from time to time.
