I have a Nuvo 60, so its 16" tall. Having issues with what I'm assuming is lighting. I have a mixed reef that's been running for about a year now. Started off running old AI Sols on it. I've since switched to a pair of radion xr15 pro g4's and I also have an aquatic life 4x39w t5 fixture. That fixture has 2 Blue Plus, true actinic and a coral plus bulb.

Everything hangs about 14-16" above the tank. Started off slow with an acclimation of about two weeks from the xr15's only then running the xr15's at about 40% for 8 hours on the LPS Coral Lab setting. The t5's would come on for about 4 hours in the middle of the cycle. Ran it this way for Months. Then what seemed to be over night all my euphyllia bleached out. I turned off the t5's and everything has slowly colored back up over the course of a couple weeks. I really want to run the lighting as I had planned but is it just to much light??

When everything bleached out I tested for about 3 days straight and everything was running as it usually does.

Thanks!

What % were you running the Ai sols at , what lenses , the stock 70 40?
How high above the tank were they.

Looking Forward, I’d consider this, the led dims. I’d use the t5 as the primary light for for the peak intensity, and add the led as the visual. So lower the peak intensity of the led during the peak photo period.

Toss t5 at that Heith should give you a field of about 400 par across top of the Tank. (A little less)
So you’ll need for figure out what the led adds to that. (I use a lux meter), and guage how much you were giving at the top with the old Lights.

So if the peak at the top was 600 par , you set the led to ramp up only to 200 par , and the t5 come on.

An Ai sol at max is 40,000 lux , 640 par approx , at full at 100%.

Every 6000 lux is approx 100 par with Reef Light color.
So you’d want only about 12- 20,000 lux at the top with the Radion.

Not sure your depth, but on my higher Light tank, led only , I run 35,000 lux , my other tank I was running 40,000 at the top and was having issues with my frogspawn. (Clear tentacles, zooox expulsion)

New fixture on line @1625 local time. I broke one of the bulbs, so only one side is lit up at the moment. My par meter I noticed has a bit of coralline growing on it, so I gotta get that cleaned off for a more accurate reading. All four bulbs are ATI Blue+.

I was running the sols at 65% peak of the light cycle. I believe they were the stock lenses. They were roughly 15" same height as my current set up.

Its great advice about dropping the led % during peak t5 time. Never occurred to me to do that! duh Almost to much control with leds now a days! lol

I'll have to borrow a meter to see where I'm coming in at.

Thanks for your help
