So I am installing a used waterbox peninsula 7226 which is in near perfect condition. However, the leveling screws on the bottom were pretty rusty, and my currently established tank is completely level with no shims or feet or anything, so I figured I would take the screws out and put it down directly on the wood (on carpet). I now am completely level from end to end on the long sides but across the short sides I am just slightly off-center.

My question is, should I shim it? Keep in mind, it is on carpet and there are no leveling feet on the bottom. My concern is that by shimming one side you're essentially creating a small U shape where the shim takes the stand off the ground until it meets the ground again somewhere in the center (probably not far from the shim but still).

So, do I shim it or let it ride? It's currently full of RO water so I could test if it leveled out with weight.

If you're that concerned, just empty it and add a full-sized block underneath the short side.
You'd only be losing RO water at this point.
