Is Kessil shimmer comparable to MH?

Kessils have more shimmer than large halides. a LOT more.
Most reef halide fixtures have multiple large facets in their reflectors which increases the total surface area light is emitting from. It's the total reflection area than matters. I used to run 250 watt halides in very small, 3 sided reflectors because it increased shimmer at the expense of coverage.

I love the shimmer. I’ve switched lighting up a couple times and always end up adding a Kessil just to get some of that gorgeous ripple effect!
