To starboard or not to starboard?

I'm in the planning stages of a rimless BB SPS build. I've used starboard on a previous BB tank but ended up getting tons of junk under. Should I use starboard and silicone it down this time? Or do you think I should just reinforce my rock so nothing falls onto the glass bottom?

im about to go BB also with starboard but i will be using the silicone around so nothing gets under
