A newbee here and I'm confused with instructions and posts. I have two new wireless MP10's in my tank and I want to use the "tidal swell" mode,,,,I think. I'm trying to have the flow go from one way and then after a while go the other way. Is syncing the powerheads the same as the "master and slave" set up? If not, how do I need to sync or unsync in order for the powerheads to do what I'm trying to do? Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Master and slave them then antisync for alternating. Lot easier with reeflink but says can be done without but not able help there since set mine up through reeflink right off sorry.

Haven't placed any in the tank yet. Just trying to figure out how everything works. Discovered "master and slave" and "sync and unsync" have the same meaning of do the pumps work together or separately. My only remaining question is if I want the right pump to use the "tidal" effect and then the left pump do the "tidal" effect in the opposite direction, should they by in the sync mode or the unsync mode?

They should both be in Tidal Swell mode, with one as master and one as the slave. Sync and unsync are not used for the Ecosmart modes (Tidal Swell and Nutrient Transport). You use master, slave, and back. Over the course of 150 minutes, the program will run the "swell" in each direction (75 minutes each way).

+1 That specific mode does not have a anti sync/sync capability. The master vs slave just means whatever you adjust on the master, the slave will follow. On specific modes, the anti sync will alternate speeds between the two (one going up in flow where the other goes down, sometimes meeting in the middle), where sync mode will still alternate flow speeds but each MP unit will have the same speed at the same time.
