I got this toadstool from a friend who's tank sprung a leak. It was fine but he had never extended his sweepers which is to be expected. Well my husband bought me a 210 gallon tank for my birthday because my tanks were too crowded and I had been wanting to combine the tanks. The day of the move I placed all of my rock fish corals etc. in a trough for holding. They had to stay there overnight. The next morning I placed everything in the new tank. That night I noticed this hole with a cottage cheese looking stuff in it. I took a syringe and got all the stuff out. Not sure if he got hit with a rock or he has some kind of pest. I have been monitoring the fish and nothing has bothered it since it's been in the tank. It has been 10 days. It is not getting any bigger the edges look better than they did it does seem a little smaller. I have thought about even dipping but I am new to the corals so I prefer asking before doing anything. I have peroxide, Dip rx, and reef dip. Can anyone help me out and tell me what I should do. I have read that they should heal within a few days.

Could be stress response or something took an interest in it. I too did a move recently and noticed my toadstool have two hole on it. It has started to recover and doesn't appear to be tissue necrosis. In my case I seen hermit on it. My guess food felt on top and they started digging. Can't tell with polyp extension, pics same day.

If it's not getting worse let it heal up.

Woke up this morning and had some more cottage cheese in the center. Not a lot. Which it has not had since I got it out last week. I did take him out and put him in a bowl to get it all out and take a closer look to see if I seen any pest. He now seems to be getting tan spots which looks like the rest of him. I found this pin hole in the center. Could this be some sort of worm hole? I also notice some smaller areas beside the hole that looks new.
