So a few days ago I come in to find my toadstool drooped over(hermit crab crawled up into the head, smdh). The head fully covered by the 2 BTA's on the rock next to it. The first day after some of the polyps in the center of the head were extended but for the last 3 days none have been. Some around the edges are trying to but its literally like a dozen or so.

So my questions are; will my toadstool survive this mauling, lol?

And I have been thinking about trimming it anyhow and kind of just want to cut the trunk/stem in half and rehome the top half. This incident has kind of put a little rush on doing that. Would it be okay to do that now that it's injured and just dip both pieces in coralRX?

Toadstool are resilient and have a film on their skin and should be ok. Obviously keep an eye on it for signs of deterioration
