Toadstool help

This is the third and largest toadstool I have purchased. The previous 2 have died and this one seems to be on its way out. He was big and beautiful for about 2 weeks. Now he's limp and motionless. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Eshopps adv200 sump with in sump skimmer
No daily additives other than purpleup
Feeding oysterfeast l, coralvite amd phytoplankton every other day
Running current orbit marine pro led 60" lights

Softies usually need a little dirtier tank. Do you have any other softies that are doing well? You can try cutting back the skimmer to 12 hours a day. That will help get some n and p into the system.Why are you dosing Purpleup? Not sure whats in it but you shouldn't need to dose it.

Purple up I believe is just a Mg solution... it doesnt contain coraline. Basically, its snake oil. The best way I've found to get coraline, is to get your tank stable, add something that has coraline on it(rock, frag plug, snail...) and you'll wish you didn't have it.

I can't help much with the toadstool because I've never kept one. I know softies in general like dirty(er) water. Try feeding some more and get your Nitrates around 10-15ppm.

How old is the tank? The fact that nitrites are still present suggests its still cycling and might be a little early for corals.

Tank is 4 months old. I'm confused tho that one poster says it might be because iys a newer tank and the nitrates atr still present while others post that soft corals like nitrates. I have 2 hammers, 3 anemonies, a torch coral and a few LPS

There is a difference between Nitrates and Nitrites. Nitrites are very poisonous at low levels while nitrates are not a problem till they are at much higher levels.

Elegance coral, torch, anemones and hammers are excellent im new to the others so I'm not sure, no significant growth but not dying

Is that torch white or is it the camera? It's badly bleached if it is.

Everything looks great. I'm not sure why the Toadstool is not happy. I did look up Purpleup. It is mostly Calcium and iodine. Have you tested your calcium levels?

I'd stop dosing purple up, especially if your not testing calcium, iodine and magnesium. The tank is 4 months young and having nitrites indicates the bacteria population can't handle the current bioload but it will in time. Give it time to stabilize. You can try to increase flow to the toadstool to see if that helps.

Mine did that until I moved it really close to the return. It needed the movement, I guess.

Yes the torch is bleached
That was due to high alkalinity before 2 water changes, it's coming back around...

It is bleached but not as badly as the photo portrays. My alkalinity was very high for a while which caused bleaching the torch is coming back around...

I have tested calcium and o don't remember the exact number but it was within normal limits
