Need some advice. I had a roaming anemone that decide to camp out next to my toadstool for two days before I could dislodge it from the under hang where it was attached. While it was there it's tentacles where brushing up against the toadstool to the point where it just pulled itself in as much as it could to get away from it. The anemone has found a happy home with Robin now, but the toadstool has been in a constant state of decline over the past week to where it's just laying over sideways now. It's looked depressed before, but seems more so now. Usually when it's depressed it pulls all its tentacles in and is real smooth looking. Since the run in with the anemone its tentacles are are just barely sticking out like little nubs. If it's done for I'd rather just pull it out and get rid of it rather than leave it in there until it rots and crashes my tank. Advice?

Well bro, I would leave it in there, some times leathers do that for some reason. I'd see where it goes. IMO

Wade get it extra flow and it will come around, its happened to mine several times it takes awhile but it will come back don't count it out till its mushy and coming apart lol....

Nope. Still in the same position. No deterioration, but no change for the better either. I'm watching it daily for signs of change. I hope it recovers. For such a cheap coral, it was the highlight of the tank.

Wade they are still a leather and leathers do weird things,my two can look like a million bucks and then do there thing, blob, for aweek then back to the norm so don't count them out.

Thanks Buddy. It appears to still be hanging in there. No change for the better or worse. Unless it starts falling apart I'm just going to let it ride and see what happens.

I had a power head fall right onto my toadstool one night woke up to see it covered in sand getting blasted by water and ripped in the base I left it alone and it only got worse for a week or two then stayed hidden for another two weeks shed twice and slowly got better now it's growing like crazy again and happy leathers are not an easy thing to kill if they have been established and have some good water watch for a shed and be patient it'll be fine
