Toadstool leather splitting or melting?

I’ve got a nice willow frag that closed up the last week and started developing a white fissure right down the middle. I’ve had leathers drop lobes before but never split completely in half (like a mushroom). You can see the striations in the flesh actually look like it’s lining up to rip in half. Anyone seen this before?

The flesh is fully intact right now. But I’m not sure if this is the beginning of splitting or melting
 
Sorry man, but based on the unhappy state of the other corals, I don't think this leather is splitting. I agree, starting to melt or die.
