So I recently bought this toadstool leather about 4 days ago, it was never sitting up, but I figured the stress from traveling caused it, but now it's been a couple days and still not opening and still not standing erect. Is it dying?

Dont sweat it just yet. First off, how old is you tank, is this your first coral and what other things do you have in the tank, like fish, etc. Asking because the rocks looks really new.

Toadstool leathers are very tolerant of less than ideal conditions, but they are also know to close up for MONTHS at a time when they move tanks, are stressed or moved. I've h ad ones that closed up for about 2 months, with some polyp extension here and there... then it got really shinny, shed some skin and opened up and started to grow pretty quickly.

Leathers will shrivel up from time to time and this can last days. They also shed periodically and look horrible when they do this. Leathers are pretty hardy and that's probably why I have so many.

How long has the tank been set up?

thanks, yea newly cycled. Only have a pair of clown fishes, some snails, and zoas, shrooms, hammer, torch, and another toadstool. All my other corals are fully extended, except for that toadstool.

It's normal for a leather. Don't worry about it. Your cleanup crew will find it when it sheds and clean it too. Be patient.
