Hey reefers, brand new to reef keeping. I just purchased my first coral. I was told it's a toadstool leather. Where abouts should I be putting this in my tank? I read alot of things online. When I look up toadstool leathers the pics don't look like mine.

Here's a pic of it

Post a pic of what you have! I have several types of leathers and they all like moderate to high flow and moderate to high light.

Ok. I just did a min ago. Should be up. You see it?

Can you post a pic with the tank lights on and no flash!?! I can't even tell what it is in that pic.

You can see several of my leathers in this end shot of my tank. As you can see, they are at least mid way up and all receive decent flow.

Ok I'm at work. I'll see if I have another on my phone.

Looks like a Long Polyp Leather to me. Still likes medium to high light and at least medium flow in my experience.

Ok great. I think where I got him might work. I may get a Kenya tree next. Heard they are good for beginners. Any suggestions?

Is it considered a long polyp toadstool leather? Thanks for posting.

That's exactly what that big purple leather is at the end of my tank in the image I posted. It likes some flow... otherwise it will stay drooped over.

Ok great. On the live aquaria site it shows the pic of the coral on the Sandy bottom that's why I was thinking of moving it to the bottom. It's a very shallow tank. Only a 20 L.

It depends on how much light you have! The bottom of my tank may not be near as bright as the bottom of your tank... or vice versa.
