My softies will sluff off every once in awhile, I would give it some time and as long as your parameters are good it should be fine.

Could it be shedding a mucous layer? Softies do this occasionally. Sometimes it takes a few days to fully shed and open up again. Just keep an eye on it.

I purchased a green toadstool three weeks ago. Mine got covered in a thin layer of algae and was completely curled into itself until two days ago it finally started to extend some of its polyps. I did move mine around a couple times which didn't help any, leathers absolutely hate being moved apparently. I've discovered that mine prefers higher flow, I have it down on the sand bed in the front near center of the tank right where the main current is. Don't give up on your toady, it just needs time!
