So I’ve had this toadstool for a year in my DT. Few months ago I noticed a damage spot on the top and thought it was my clown fish picking at it so I didn’t pay much attention to it. I setup a new observation tank 20 days ago and dipped the toadstool in coral RX nothing came out. I treated the tank with interceptor still nothing. It’s not healing and I can see a hole about 1/2 inch deep maybe deeper. The hole dose fill up with detritus. Could there be a pest that has made a home deep inside?

Give it a dip with a citric acid based product that'll kill whatever is in the hole and help that cyst heal. Just to be safe imo also dip it with an iodine based dip.

I’ll have to get iodine. It’s not cyst the top layer of flesh is gone. Here’s a better picture.

I’ve dipped this coral three times now nothing has came out and it’s not healing. How many drops of Lugol’s per gallon should I be using as a dip?

They do this sometimes when they drop babies. Do a search on it. I don't think I would dip it anymore and just let it do it's thing.
