Has anyone ever assisted their toadstools with the shedding of the layer when they go into that state? I have read that is common for them to do that every so often.mine was doing good, it actually split into two heads, and now it has been with that layer over it for about 3 days. My tank does not have very strong flow in that area, so not sure if that could be the reason it is struggling to get pass it. I have seen the tentacles trying to come out from under the layer, but they can’t seem to brake thru.

I would let it be, they can sometimes take up to two weeks to finish a shed in my experience. Only time you need to be concerned is if it starts to wither and turn brown, thats an indication it could be dying on you.

I know a change in water flow will cause them to go into that state. (usually low flow causes them to do that and increasing flow brings mine out)
