Toadstool staying open all day and night?

For the last few days, my toadstool leather is staying open all day and all night, from what I can tell... Its getting big and beautiful! I've only had him for about 2 weeks now. He was doing so poorly at a big name pet store. I just had to save him. He is doing great now, but is it common for one to stay open all the time? The first pic is when I first got him. The second is from tonight.

There will come a day you tick it off and it will curl up in a ball and look miserable. It is fine then too as long as you see no black. It can stay that way for a long time too. Funny corals. Looks really nice!

Thanks! My tank is only 4 months old (10gallon nano) . I recently got back into the hobby after 10 years ( by accident) (kinda).... Having to relearn and research Alot! I will be getting a 110g in a week... Its a sickness...Lol.

That's a good sized upgrade .. and yep I did the same .. started with a 63 liter tank , just got it cycled and upgraded too a 100 liter .. had that for a year and I've now just upgraded again too a 350 liter tank , it's an addiction .. hahaha .. will you be doing a build thread for the 110g ?

He's OK. Great choice. They are hardy, grow fast, and are great for beginner Fraggers. be careful buying from those stores if you don't have a QT.

Toadstools are super fun to have I have a tyree green (which seems to be much more temperamental than the normal ones) but sometimes they stay open all night, more often though they suck the polyps in after lights out.

I am not running moon lights. It keeps my fish awake! I never considered doing a thread on the build of my 110g... Hmmm. Maybe. The thing is that I got an awesome deal on a complete setup, livestock and all... So ill be setting it up rather quickly. I can and will do a thread on the tear down, move and setup, with lots of pics, if anyone is interested to see... Would people really want to see that?? I originally planned on doing away with my 10g completely, but Ive grown rather fond of it, so it will stay. My 110g will be a mixed reef setup. So excited!!!!

You should. Tons of people ask about how to "move a tank" I have my progression pics, but none of the teardown that day. It will also let you document what not to do next time. And your 10 gal QT is redy to go! I'll be following.

Ha! Ok... I definitely will document the whole thing. Ive moved a 75 gallon before, a long time ago... But yeah! Definitely will... for the enlightenment and education of us "tank nuts"! Lol
