Hi!
Been in the hobby little over a year and Im loving it
Recently I picked up a gorgeous neon green toadstool. When its fully open its about 9" high by 5" wide. The tank it came from, it was sitting low and in the corner so when I put it in my tank I tried to mimic that to ease any stress. About a week ago I noticed a hole and thought someone nipped at one of its polyps. Few days later I noticed the hole was bigger and there was a second hole. Initially I thought it was being eaten by a worm but after a little bit of research found out it was actually having babies! I was so excited to get to watch this event. Now however, I havent seen it "bloom" in a few days and its surface has started to look waxy or like its glistening. Is this part of the reproducing process? If this sounds normal thats good, if not then Id appreciate any suggestions as to how I can correct the problem if one does in fact exist. Ive attached a fts to show its current placement and a close up to show the glistening and holes.
Its in a 92gl tank.
Temp is at 78.2
Salinity is 1.026
All readings are in range.
I run a canister filtration and don't rely on any automatic dosing or top offs, I do it all myself.
I use marine orbit led's for now but am planning to upgrade my lights soon.
Water changes at 10% weekly and filter is cleaned every 10 days. Hoping the ReefSquad can help!
