Well, friends of North Alabama today is the day....... I will be adding all of my water, rock, corals and fish to the new 300 display. Wish me luck and keep "MURPHY" away today as we have had it with him:cry:

Good Luck Mike, I know you've had an uphill battle with your new tank. Take plenty of pictures before, during, and after. Waitin' to see 'um!

Whoa Betsy, I am done......Tank is aquascaped, stocked with coral, fish and whatever else we found. We (me and Jason thanks man) found many surprises one being I am missing four fish Purple Tang Blonde Naso Tang, Blue Mandarin and a Clown Tang. Well looks like my Sebae nem ate them because there was not bone piles or anything of the sort......

I will work on Pictures tonight or tomorrow as my feet hurt, nut the good news is I got a Lopezi Tang and a Juvi Orange Shoulder Tang today. Everyone ate and all of the corals are open and almost done slimming over. So far so good and a big thanks to the club for all of the help keeping MURPHY away today.

Had alot of fun helping,I think you will really like the Lopezie. It has been a great fish since we got it in,and it is also pretty.LOL
Jason

I've never even seen a Reef Keeper Elite but I do .NET web programming. If it's anything like that I may be able to help you. I doubt if its the same though.

You saved the reef by letting me borrow that nice skimmer....... I sure am appreciative for it, Thanks

you sand that you put in was it fresh bags of dry or wet/live sand when you put it in your tank. I kinda did the same kinda swap out as you and am having a feeling that if your rocks are clean and doing work then the sand will come to life slowly and filter easy.

280 pounds of it is Marco dry never cycled sand that was washed for weeks in FW. I also added 20 pounds of live top sand so the top 1/8th of an inch live sand was added to the top of the new sand.

ok, should be fine iv seen fish stores and some people do it this way, good luck im praying for no cycles for both of us :) would be impossibly to get the fish out and my rock work aint moving i love it how mine looks.

Mike - Which one of the Marco rocks did you buy? Was it the Key Largo? What kind of cycle did you have and how long did it take to cycle?

Harry I have recieved just over 250 pounds of dry key largo rock from Marc and all I can say is it is great. The first order was just before I had the meeting at my house and after the chip in the tank I added it all to the Lagoon. I saw no cycle at all. I would rinse in RO/Waste Salt Water first then add to the tank. I don't think there is any organics in the rock but there is a white dust. I presume it is from the quarry and is just calcium dust ECT. The second was 150 pounds and this was just before I set up this time, I added all the dry Marco as base and then layered my old live rock around it. So far I have not seen any evidence of a cycle...... I have also watched as Yerboy set up his system and he has used all Marco dry base, as of now I dont believe he has had a cycle from the rock.

Yerboy do you have a comment?

well im at i think 8 weeks in and yet to see ammonia. There was some time here and there that i was out of town and unable to test so i may have missed it. I'm also running the neozeo method, not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. With your system your moving an established system into a tank with dead rock sand, even if there are some organics remaining on your rock im sure your current bacteria load could support it.

Looks good, Mike.

I had a nice long post on setting up Ethernet, but since Microsoft is the most unstable software available, I lost it... I'll recap.

On home computer, go to Command prompt (Start-->Accessories-->Command Prompt or Start-->Run-->cmd). Type in ipconfig/all and hit enter.

Write down the IP, subnet, gateway, and DNS info.

Plug that info into the controller's Net setup. Everything should match between the two devices except the IP. The controller needs a unique address. If the main system is 192.168.1.50 and no other system on the home network has 192.168.1.60, you could use that (or anything similar, etc.). Once all of the info is there, and the connections are made (Ethernet (I'm assuming?) from controller to router/hub/switch at home network), you should be able to access the controller via the IP. Open a browser and type in the IP and it should take you to the site.

You can ping the controller to see if it responds. That'll let you know if you have a connection. From command prompt, type in ping {IP address-whatever you decide to go with for the controller) and hit enter. It'll send four messages and look for a a reply.
