I get sad too when I have to remove or sell a fish. I've kept or I should say keep jerk fish in a special tanks suited to them. Now I'm housing a purple tang in his own 300g tub because he turned into a crazy. Then I felt bad he was by himself, so I had to find just the right friend for him. Fish physiology should really have its own book.

Anyone else get emotional when they have to get rid of a fish or is it just me?
Yeah I had a damsel for 4+ years. Tank leaked. Thought I had put it in a safe tote. My backup heater killed everything in that tote.

That damsel was mean. Harassed and tortured anyone new. Wouldn’t let my clowns get more than 2” away from their anemone. What’s worse is that he hid 80% of the time. Just the worst fish. I absolutely drank 2 shots of vodka (one for me and one for him) and had a quick cry when he died.

When I made the move to Georgia I had to give away my 20 gallon peninsula and its inhabitants. My grumpy YWG and Peppermint basslet I had for 4.5 years I had to rehome and I was very emotional about it!

Someone dumped chemicals into my tank at work and I ended up getting rid of a goby who only eats copepods because I’d have to move it and what not
That's f ed up.I had a Hawaiian yellow tang that I had to get rid of cause he just out grew my tank.Good thing it went to a good but I still miss him/her.Lfs tells me it's doing great.
