Hi there, this the second batch of tomatoes that this happens. They are 9 days old and most of them are covered with that seems to be white spots. If you take a look at the pics, those white spots seem that they kind of hanging on them, it could not be ick case I've seen ick and it does not seem like it. Is it some kind of fungus of some type? The weird thing about it is that I have another batch of ocellariies and they are not showing those symptoms. Its a flow thru system where I have a sump dedicated just for the larva hatching tanks. I have a UV going in the sump as well so I'm a lost here.

Any ideas what this could be and how I can treat it? Thanks very much for your help.

Too small to be ich. My guess is fungal. Do a good water change, see if it helps. I had a case of fin rot go through two tubs of Ocellaris, Picasso, and onyx babies. Lost all of them the first time (100 fry at 2 months old) the second time i got it, i did a massive water change and some cleared up but i had to cull the badly infected ones before it killed the hole batch again.

I agree that it is some sort or a bacterial or fungal. There are tons of treatments for this. Also you say UV how big is it on how many gals? How old is the bulb. 2 systems is also always a good thing.

UV just went i there and it is a 13 watts rated for 150 gals, so UV should be fine i guess. When you say two systems, you mean 2 UVs in there? Total water volume for now is about 60gals. What other treatment would you recommend for this symptoms?

Thanks for all the replies!

Yeah, this Melafix looks like a good product. I will give that a shot. Thanks for your inputs.

13 watt is kinda small. what they are rated for and what they CAN do are 2 dif things. I have a 36w on my breeder setup. Also if you just put it on it will take a couple weeks for it to kill everything. By 2 setups i meant a breeder and growout on there own system.

Yes I understand. I have one 36W in my breeder's setup. Got another one 36W on my grow out system. Breeders and grow out setups are completely apart. Now I had the Larvae hatching tanks attached to my grow out but I think that was not working as the grow out water tends to be a bit dirtier for the young larvae. Now I decided to have the larvae on their own system, completely separated from everything else. See if I can have a stronger and just add another UV unit to the larvae system in order to kill as much bad stuff as possible. Thanks for your replies again.
