Tomini tang joined our tank 6/27 along with a China Wrasse (doing great) and a Yellow Tang (didn't make it a week, had posted here and was diagnosed with HLLD and a bacterial disease). The Tomini has looked great and is a voracious eater. I noticed something going on with the right side of it's face this morning and would really like to not lose this guy. Is this a bacterial issue again?

Water parameters have stayed steady and we have a UV sterilizer running. Fish are fed a combo of LRS Reef Frenzy, frozen Mysis and Brine shrimp and recently added nori and masstick when we got the newest fish. Food is soaked in Selcon daily.

Definitely has hlle severely and it’s stomach is sunken in terribly. It needs a lot of nutritious food and fast. If your running carbon I would stop and make sure it eats. Possible that it has an internal parasite as well which could explain why it’s so skinny. What did the yellow die from?

Yes, that does look like you've still got both of those issues. What did you use to treat the bacterial infection?

Not running carbon so we're good there. Yellow Tang died from the bacterial infection per some responses here and confined by the LFS with the pics I had and the dead body. He just ate a bunch of the LRS reef frenzy and goes through 1/2 a sheet of nori plus grazing in the tank and has some shrimp too. I feed twice a day. Any other food rec's?

We had planned on getting at QT sat up but the yellow tang I was dead the next morning before we could.

On hand I have:
Furen-2
Prazipro
Seachem focus
Cupramine.

Just ordered and will arrive in the next few days:
Seachem Kanaplex and Metroplex

All our fish and corals have come from the same store who has a good reputation but we've had a rough time in the last few months. Tank has been up for almost a year now. We are not adding anymore fish until we get the QT at this point.

For treating bacterial infections of the head/face area on fish, have had very good results using Sulfaplex (aka Triple Sulfa) + Neoplex. Treat in a QT for 10-14 days.

Also consider adding Beta Glucan to the food mix for the fish. It can greatly help the fish's immune system. I mix it with 6-8 assorted frozen food cubes. Can add Focus to feed directly to the fish.

Thank you for the rec's. Just ordered both and they should be here Sunday. Hopefully he can hang in there until tomorrow when we can go shopping

And as an update, the poor thing didn't even make it to 5pm last night. I'll have meds or the future if they are ever needed. Thank you for the assistance and advice.

Wow, sorry for your loss. I’m not sure what happened but maybe it was infected by the Yellow Tang? :(

I absolutely hate these filthy scums called bacteria and pathogens. I wonder if science will one day find a way to drive these Marine illnesses to near extinction / extinction.

The way it killed so fast I think it may have been marine velvet and a bacterial infection sorry this happened to you

Here's how the poor guy looked when I pulled him out. Does this look like velvet? We have 2 clowns, a blue damsel, orange back fairy wrasse, china wrasse, Flame Hawkfish, and diamondback goby in the tank. Everyone seems fine other than the hawk has lost some of his brightness. From my research I'm wondering if the wrasses are stealing some of his food we I've been making sure to get food towards him.
