I have this tang that just went through 30 days of therapeutic copper power and 2 rounds or prazipro. I noticed a small white spot on its upper fin. Im not entirely sure what it is and if it needs to be treated or is it ok to release into my dt. Thanks

Kinda hard to see. It seems a little large so try a freshwater dip and see if it comes off. If it does come off its flukes and you should continue prazipro. If it doesn't it's probably ich and you should treat with copper again. It's not unheard of for ich to survive copper treatments.

How long does prazi take to work if it is indeed a fluke? Just seems kind of odd as its just that one spot. The spot almost seems too large to be ich.

Prazipro takes a matter of hours to work it’s magic. But like above I would try to fresh water dip to confirm it’s fluke first.

Typically only takes two weeks but it's possible you had a straggler. I agree it looks large for ich.

Usually if it’s bacterial it shows as red sores. This does not look like the case. Kinda doubtful for flukes as well because usually there not visible to the naked eye like this. But I would still perform a fresh water dip!

Will try a fresh water dip first and then report back and go from there.

Just performed a fresh water dip and at the 4-5 minute mark that spot dropped off. It seemed to leave two little white marks in the same spot. Now if this is a fluke that prazi did not kill what are my treatment option? As the fish is clean and healthy otherwise can I just perform another fresh water dip then release into my DT? Thanks

You'll want to treat with prazi again as flukes can live in the gills where you can't see it. It might've just been lucky and somehow survived prazi

After all the spot was still there. I netted the fish and gently rubbed my finger on the spot and it came off. No clue what it was but it hasn't reappeared.

Tang still has the same spot but it doesn't seem like its getting bigger.
