Hey everyone! I'm just getting into corals and have a quick question. I'm not sure whether I'm just being impatient or not.

I got a zoa frag yesterday and I acclimated it, dipped it, and added it to a high flow moderate light area of my tank. So far the polyps haven't began to open up at all (kept it on the frag plug). Should I just move it to a lower flow area of my tank and see what happens there? Or should I try to wait it out some more.

Thanks!

^ some zoas open right away , others can drive me nuts before they open,

in any case, lower flow and then wait it out. Save your high flow areas for the eventual corals that need it . As a rule of thumb, best practices with pretty much all corals is to introduce then to low flow low light areas of the tank until they get acclimated. Once they are past the trauma of being added to a new tank, then move them up and into higher flow as applicable
