Too late to add a refugium?

I have a 65 gallon tank thats been running for a few months now with a hob skimmer and filter. Would I be able to add a refugium at this point without bothering the fish and corals in my dt. If so, what size refugium should I use. I'm looking for an all in one setup that only requires me to add a new skimmer. I see a couple on ebay that only require a skimmer, but I wasn't sure if I could add one now or what size to get.
