Just wondering if anyone else feels like the live sales are not as fun now due to the frequency of the sales now. Heck, we have 4 or 5 big ones in February/March timeframe. I used to look forward to them when there was 1 every few months but now I usually just skip them.

It's the thing to do as a vendor. If you look at it from a sales end the "pressure" and "hype" brings more sales. As a buyer knowing that the piece shown at that moment is also being viewed by dozen of others throws out any logical decsion making behind the purchase and the purchase becomes a impulse buy. This increases sales on the high prices for frags the size of my dogs finger nail. It's a smart theory.

Yeah, I get that aspect of it. It always amazes me how many people are on there looking for "common" corals and those go just as quick as the more "rare" pieces. And to think a lot of those "common" corals have probably been sitting on the vendors website for weeks or months. I'm pretty good at having my list and sticking to it. Heck I don't even try for the $1 or $5 corals because usually they are not on my list. The last WWC live sale was the first time I've gotten a $5 coral and it was because they actually put one up that was on my list.

I've received orders from my first ever and then second I participated in this last month, WWC and CC and I must say- I'm just as pleased if not more with the livestock compared to when I just shop.
I usually treat myself to something new for the reef or nano anyhow monthly, and I enjoy the experience of the live sale and see Corals I might not have delved into if not for the sale. It's definitely nice scoring a great piece at the fraction of the cost!
I can see how it would wear thin though- after this last live sale I'll likely choose a favorite vendor and just perch for their next rather than volleyball around the them all ^.^

I agree, the frequency of the sales means stuff really isn't on sale you are just paying more for things if you buy when it is not on sale. It's kind of like the mall, you should never buy something from gap at full price, You should at least get 20% off.
