It's hard to see, but this 5 gallon nano I set up about 2 weeks ago has THOUSANDS of pods, every one of the blurry white specs on the glass is one, and they're everywhere covering every rock and in the filter and everything. I know they're beneficial but is this too much for a nano? My 55g reef doesn't even have this many. The only fish in there currently is a small clown goby, would a mandarin or a scooter Benny be good? Or would it while out the population too fast in such a small tank? Please help!

Hey there, I don't know about to many pods, but can you send some my way?:D I'm constantly feeding my tank and fuge pods and I can't see a dang one.

A Mandarin or Blenny would perish in such a small tank.

A Damsel or Clown will pick off the pods over time, but a 5 gallon tank limits your options.

I would not be concerned regarding the current pod population, the population is based on available food source. The tank is new so there is more stuff for the pods to eat. Once the tank becomes established the population will die back.

+1
They are very likely doing you a HUGE service on clean up. once they are done they'll go away.

Yeah, just a little to far for me. :D
